WHERE IT ALL BEGAN
In the summer of 2009, a real smart guy named Cameron decided the world would be much cooler with a women's team around. He recruited two pretty rad chicks from his summer league team, McKenzie and Autumn, and the trio went about rounding up the best girls on campus to form Cheshire. In their first year, which included a tournament at home and two away, Cheshire won three games and met some Canadians.
WHY "CHESHIRE"?
The name "Cheshire" is a tribute to the founding coach, who has a creepy smile - not unlike a certain famous cat. In order to pass the idea, it was also noted that the university's school color was purple, which, paired with pink, matches the cat's color scheme. Furthermore, it is a spin off of the school's feline mascot, Willie the Wildcat.
